How To Dress For Fall – Capsule Wardrobe 2023
This is the time of year when we start thinking of swapping out our sandals for boots, our tees for long-sleeve cashmere, and wool cardigans. Fall ushers in my favorite wardrobe time of the year as I swap out airy items with heavier fall fabrics, such as tweed, wool, and flannel. Rotating a collection of cozy clothing pieces in some of my (neutral) favorite colors, including taupe, gray, brown, and black, is one of my favorite parts of this time of year. It just says, “Sit and relax for a while.”

Still, Barbie was nothing like any doll [woman] I’d ever seen, with her perfectly coifed white-blond hair, slim physique, and risque outfits. Even with our limited means, my sisters and I had Barbie dolls; in fact – that is what all of our dolls, Barbie or not, ended up being referred to, Barbie dolls. It was branding in its infancy, and wasn’t that the point? How many girls through the ages would pick up Barbie over Wonder Woman? And what does that say about us as a society?
