What Are You Watching Right Now?

I don’t know about you but after I finish a series, I need a moment. I admire people that can juggle multiple (series) shows but my brain does not work that way.

I tend to chew on things, mull them over, and literally, stress about how the story should have gone (in my opinion). In fact, I have to pull myself back to reality and remind myself that no, Spencer is really not stuck on a boat waiting for season 2 (1923). Well, he is but, not.

Yes, I am a muller-over.

However, I do move on, in time.

I recently finished Daisy Jones and The Six. It is a limited series with just 10 episodes. Yes, I mulled over the pre-ending and the ending (you’ll have to watch it to understand) and I loved it! If you are a rock-n-roll junkie and were born in the ’60s or ’70s and raised in the ’80s, you will love this show. It is about love, sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll while offering up a whole lotta dysfunctional family vibes. Added bonus for Elvis Presley fans. Check it out on Amazon.

I just started Tiny Beautiful Things which is also a limited series, with just 8 episodes. This show is written for Cheryl Strayed who is the once-anonymous Dear Sugar, a loving and lively real-life advice columnist from The Rumpus that offered her readers a bit of wisdom, often through intimate, self-deprecating, and humorous stories depicting her own life. I am just a few episodes in but I love the trajectory of this show. It is raw, real, and hard not to relate to -even if we don’t always want to admit our own past failings and current dramatic situations. Check it out on Hulu.
